Leadfarmer Devotion Legendary Weapon Concept

Creating alternate legendary weapons were a task that took us down many untraveled roads and paths at Respawn. Normally we are used to creating "real steel" assets that are very much grounded, even if they belong in a sci-fi IP. Over the course of Apex Legends, we developed concepts and models for many weapons with a wide variety of themes to explore. Some were instant winners, some were downright "iffy" at best. Overall we were able to stretch out and explore new avenues of art. Like this gun for example. This is obviously a nod to the hit cinematic experience "Tropic Thunder", but what I love the most about it is this is an energy actuated LMG. It fires an energy-actuated round, so its kind of a lead farmer, but mostly an electrified firehose of bullets. This weapon with the Turbocharger Mod is a very nasty combination, so vile and ruthless that Robert Downey Jr. aka Kirk Lazarus aka Staff Sergeant Lincoln Osiris himself would break character before releasing the DVD commentary.
